While most people are busy mourning the end of another summer, I am more than ready to usher in the new season. Yes I will miss the sun and the surf, but no summer glow can beat a New York fall.
Fall has always been my favorite time of year. Aside from the multicolored trees and the perfect weather, fall fashion is second to none. September through November is the best time of year to experiment with layering without having either to sweat yourself to death or to cover everything up in a giant down parka.
Despite when the weather outside may be telling you, spring is around the corner (or at least I hope so). The start of spring means the start of the most loved and hated season of them all: swimsuit season.
Finding the perfect swimsuit is like finding a salaried position in media, near impossible. While I may not be able to help you with the latter, I’ve got some ideas on the former.
The Christmas season is upon us, and with that, giving season is upon us. This year, let’s aim to get the people we care about things that they would actually like.
For the One Who Pretends to do Yoga
We all know that girl who loves fitness but also loves to shove a doughnut in her face, though, you wouldn’t see that on her Instagram. Her fitness closet rivals that of Khloé Kardashian, and she is your go to contact for the latest juice cleanse. This year get her something that inspires her to actually learn the yoga moves that she always posts about.
I moved to NYC a little over a month ago with two suitcases, no job, and an empty apartment waiting for me. My Uber driver dropped me off in front of my Upper West Side apartment and helped me unload my bags. After struggling to get my large suitcases out of the trunk, he joked about how I had packed gold bricks. Looking at the price of my uber, I not so jokingly wished I had.
Ascending the steps to my two floor walk up (always count your blessings), suitcases in hand, I wondered, what could I have packed that is this heavy? Is it possible I unknowingly snuck some gold bricks into my suitcase for good measure?
It is December 21!
You know what that means, 4 days until Christmas. If you have been a little too busy decking the halls that your gift shopping has suffered, never fear, your holiday gift guide is here.
The year is 2000. I am six years old. It is a normal Sunday morning in the Knot household. The smell of coffee cake sits in the air.
It is early. Throughout the house, my siblings use their comforters as shields in a futile attempt to resist our human alarm clocks or parents.
As most of you know, I celebrated my birthday this summer. I was lucky enough to have a big celebration with most of my friends.
You know what birthday parties mean…PRESENTS.
I know I know all of my Picks of the Week are birthday gifts. Well I can’t help it that my friends are awesome (I’m looking at you Holly and Lorin).
One thing about me is that I absolutely love birthdays. My birthday, my friend’s birthday, my mom’s birthday, a complete stranger’s birthday, you get the picture. Your birthday is the one day that your friends, family, work, gather round and try to make your day special. Not because of anything you did or anything you accomplished. Just for being alive. You did not do anything to deserve that celebration. All you did was exist long enough so that you could make it to another year. As simple as that sounds, it is the truth, and it is beautiful.READ MORE
