How to Dress Like Thanksgiving Dinner

Yes you read that title correctly. If you are searching for a blog post on how to dress to impress your dinner guests or on advising you on what to wear to your family’s Thanksgiving celebration, you’ve got the wrong blog.

I considered writing that article, but after doing a quick Google search, I realized most of your feeds and timelines are already filled with that advice. In fact, most of the girls writing them are my friends, and I trust them to get the job done.

With “What to Wear for Thanksgiving” crossed off my list, I needed something else to write about, something timely, something interesting. With that criteria in mind, I consulted my team (a.k.a my two younger sisters, Juliana and Elisabeth). They suggested I base my outfit color palette off of a Thanksgiving plate. Think “Dress like Thanksgiving Food but Make it Fashion” and “How to Dress Like Thanksgiving Dinner” was born.

Sweet Potatoes

The Miss Congeniality of the Thanksgiving plate. Though it may not be the favorite of all Thanksgiving dishes, everyone looks forward to it. Without it, our plates would be overwhelmingly beige. Here’s looking at you, yams.

Green Beans

Downside: this is my LEAST favorite side. Upside: Green is my color.

Mashed Potatoes

Hands down best side dish of all time AND my grandma makes the best. Don’t @ me.

Cranberry Sauce

If sweet potatoes are the Miss Congeniality of Thanksgiving, then cranberry sauce is the participation trophy. Nobody really enjoys this dish, but for some reason is has to be served.

Turkey

Warning: I don’t own anything the specific shade of beige of a turkey, so this Aritzia coat will have to do.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thankful for each and every one of you (the ten of you there are ;)) that take the time to read my ramblings. Enjoy those potatoes.
