Halloween Door Decoration DIY

Just in case you have not checked your Instagram or Twitter feed for the last two weeks, I will remind you: it is October!

Hear that? That’s the sound of white girls everywhere pouring a pumpkin spice latte.

Get ready with your insults people, because I am one of those white girls, and October’s charm is far too alluring for me to resist.

Fall has a very special space in my heart. Maybe it’s the ability to walk outside in a coat without the air making your eyes water or maybe it is the sound of the crunching leaves beneath my feet on the way to class, but nothing beats waking up on a fall morning.

Fall weather always puts me in the mood to decorate, and given my lowly financial position, decorating means DIY.

Don’t panic. I said DIY not DIE. If you have got two hands, this craft is a piece of cake.

Things you need:

Wooden Letters
Black Spray paint/ regular paint
Black glitter
Orange Ribbon

(All available at Joann Fabrics)
Step one: Lay out your letter on top of a few sheets of newspaper.

Step two: Spray your letter completely black. Make sure your covered all the areas of the letter, leaving no blank spaces.

Step three: Lift letter from the newspaper to make sure it does not stick. Then cover the letter completely in the black glitter. The spray paint will dry quickly so do not let the letter sit for a long time before covering with glitter.

Step four: Lift your letter from the newspaper and shake off the excess glitter. Set letter aside in a safe spot to continue drying.

Step five: Repeat steps one through four for the remaining letters.

Step six: Cut three strips of orange ribbon and tie each letter together.

Step seven: Hang on your door and enjoy!
