Summer is almost officially over, but if you’re in the Midwest like me, summer weather is still here, occasionally.

I have been here my whole life so I know how this works. The cold crisp morning dramatically changes by mid afternoon. I’m talking sunny skies and 80 degree weather people.

So how can I dress to accommodate the constantly fluctuating Michigan weather?

The answer is not always easy. In fact, I usually am either shivering or sweating profusely by the end of the day. However my best advice is to keep it simple. Make sure to stay covered up enough that you won’t freeze on your way to morning class, hence the long sleeves, but light enough that you won’t have monstrous pit stains.

Rompers are a perfect transition piece from summer to fall.

As for the footwear, as long as it is still sunny, keep those sandals on your feet. Boot season will be here before you know it.

Sorry fashion police but I am going to have to continue wearing white until fall is here and here to stay.
