Because every bride is different, every engagement photoshoot style is different. Whether you air on the traditional side or edgy is more your vibe, any bride can benefit from these engagement shoot styling guidelines.

Find an Inspiration

For my engagement photos, I decided to draw inspo from none other than the Duchess herself. Tough to live up to I know. Her and Harry’s photos epitomized elegance. Though we didn’t get many photos from their shoot, this one in particular stood out.

Choose a Bold Color

The first rule of getting in front of a camera is color. Black may be your go-to color for date night, but a photoshoot calls for something brighter. Pick a shade you feel comfortable and confident in (deep blues and greens are universally flattering), and make that the focal point.

Give a Nod to Your Big Day

After getting engaged, the most important white dress on your mind is the one you wear down the aisle. However, it has become traditional to don white dresses leading up to your big day as well. Whether it be for the shower or rehearsal dinner, a little white dress can come in handy. Try incorporating one of these dresses in your shoot.

Express Your Personal Style

The most important part of your photos is that they look like you. Make sure to add in a favorite dress or sweater to give your pictures a personal touch. Whether it be an accessory or an article of clothing, make sure your personal style shines through.
